THANK YOU ALL so much for your hard work and TEAM attitude!! A Big Thanks to Public Works Supervisor Paul Williams, (who will be helping train/teach Crystin in her full time position), for his willingness to give above and beyond 24/7 to the residents, trustees, contractors, visitors, employees, etc..of the Village of Davis Junction. Office assistant Sarah Whitney and Public Works Supervisor Paul Williams have been working diligently these past few months at correcting the meter reads and the utility bills. It is the intent of the office to have the utility bills in the mail by the 5th of every month. For the past two months this goal has been achieved. Payment of your utility bill is usually due around the 25th of the month. Fine tuning of the meters and billing system continues. As meters age they may need replacing. Each month the bills will be checked for high/low reads, if there seems to be a problem homeowners are contacted for inspections of the meters to make sure they are working correctly. We will be working towards accepting credit/debit cards for payment and eventually may stop accepting cash payments altogether. |

It won't be long now and you should see the office area moved back into the remodeled offices. Thanks to all of you for your patience during our Village Hall office area construction "project". What started as a necessary carpet replacement, snowballed into a complete re-roofing of the Village Hall portion of the building. We had to take up the carpet, it was unsafe, old and cold because it was laid directly on top of a cement floor. We also decided to paint since all the furniture had to be moved anyways. As the painter was finishing the last wall, it started raining...inside! We thought we had leaking windows, but after closer inspection it was discovered the roof was leaking! Now we had to bid out a roof project, wait on the flooring installation, and get the rain damaged window wells repaired! Whew! Hopefully December will see us back in the office area. At that time the window wells in the meeting room area will be repaired and the platform, where the Village Board sits during meetings, extended. That should complete Village Hall renovations for awhile. Thanks to trustee Nancy Carr for handling this nightmare project and office assistant Sarah Whitney for working out of the meeting room and cardboard boxes with a SMILE!! |
